Director Dennis Villenueve
Starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker
Twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world and Linguistics Professor, Amy Adams, has to find a way to communicate with them, quickly. She eventually takes a high stakes risk in order to achieve this. This film is no dumbed down remake of “Close Encounters” but a masterly piece of science fiction writing. It is a well-crafted film that does not rely on the usual CGI effects for its impact and interest.

Intelligent film, well acted, great score. Is the ‘weapon’ a blessing or a curse?
I enjoyed it but don’t think I understood it!
Utterly fab, most engrossing film for me for a long time. Only slightly baffled.
Long winded, daft, tense at times, better than expected.
This movie scrambled my brain! i enjoyed it.
Too mainstream US/CGI/Matrix/Inception. B list actors.
I hope the aliens come yesterday.
Engaging – albeit with stereotypical responses to your normal alien invasion.
Soundtrack was excellent.
Terrible that everybody else left the hall before the whale-type music had finished during the credits. (Influence of TV announcements during credits?)
Close Encounters was better! Not very exciting.
Now to watch it again!
