The Death of Stalin
Director Armando Iannucci
Starring Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor, Simon Russell Beale
An extreme black comedy about the mayhem following the unexpected death of Stalin. Beginning in the black days of 1953, when Russians were being rounded up daily for torture,
imprisonment, exile, or execution. No one is safe.
“A very funny comedy about life, death and totalitarianism” –
New York Times
“Superbly cast, and acted with icy and ruthless force by an A-list lineup” – Peter Bradshaw

Wicked and cheeky satire.
Great choice. Needed subtitles.
Make Mother Russia great again!
Some sound not too clear.
Had it’s moments – dialogue too frenetic at times.
Flashes of brilliance but hard to sustain in a film of this length. Enjoyed it though.
In a film .. Stalin’s terror is just not a subject for comedy.
So much swearing! Good actors but the topic was very serious and perhaps too recent.
Not enough swearing.
