The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Director Yorgos Lanthimos
Starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan
Brought to you by the director of The Lobster , this story, based on the
ancient Greek play Iphigenia at Aulis by Euripides, features Steven, a
charismatic surgeon, who is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice
after his life starts to fall apart, when the behaviour of a teenage boy
he has taken under his wing turns sinister.
“A film that ‘slinks around your subconscious like a hungry
panther’” – The Telegraph

Cod’s Wallop! Lord save us from Ancient Greeks.
Chilling, but ultimately not believable.
Bizarre and boring.
I really had no idea how to score this film – it was an ordeal.
Too long to keep the tension up.
Experimental detached dialogue format applied to a black comedy – well executed. [Amended.]
Weird, weird, weird!!!
Not as entertaining as the Lobster, but long but same style.
Unbearable but good.
Very disturbing. Looking forward to next week, Paddington 2- The Killing of the Sacred Bear.
But it relied on Magic. Well acted, suspenseful and gripping.
The best film I have ever seen. Wonderful music.
